The Last Book in the Universe !

1) Rodman Philbrick's first novel was published in and around the age of 27. He wrote his first book in grade six and didn't get published til the age of 27, so it has taken him about 16 years to be recognized.

2) I think what makes Rodman Philbrick a good author is determination. He never once gave up on his dream and I think you can really see that in his work. He focuses on books for younger children and I think that help to keep his imagination young and exciting, which reads through into his novels.

This man resembles Ryter because he is old and looks weak and pretty run down. He also looks like someone who would rather just be living by himself, doing his own thing.

This little boy reminds me of Little Face because he looks alone and unhappy. He had to fend for himself and take care of himself. He is extremely skinny because he isn't able to get the food, because of the fact that he has no money and no one to look after him.

This lady reminds me of Lanaya because she is extremely pretty, and has the long blonde hair that they talk about in the novel. She looks as though she has quite a bit of money and she is extremely clean unlike the others from the stacks.

This teenager reminds me of Spaz because he looks tough. He looks as though he could handle almost anything that is thrown at him. It looks as though he could live by himself and look after him self with out anyones help.

This psychotic looking man reminds me of a Monkey Boy because, well he looks like a monkey.

Speculative Fiction !

Speculative Fiction :

Is an umbrella term used to describe science and fantasy fiction. Science fiction is a genre that involves current or future science and technology. Fantasy fiction is a genre that uses magic and other supernatural forms as a primary element of their plot, theme and setting. Examples of Speculative Fiction are Planet of the Apes and Star Wars.

My favourite ad is the the " Got Milk " advertisement. I like this one because they have taken an approach that not many other products take. The fact that they brought in a rock star who is extremely known and created an ad that draws people in. This advertisement also speaks to a younger crowd which is a great way to get attention. I would obviously buy this product considering it's milk. This definitely makes me want to buy it though.

This is my least favourite ad. I don't like it because I think it's wrong to use a women's body to sell a product. I think it's especially wrong because it's actually her perfume, and the fact that she is willing to do that to her self just to sell her product is a little much.

I definitely don't think that celebrities need that much money for making a commercial. The fact that they just have to flash their face on a screen for 15 seconds and they got $ 20 million dollars is ridiculous! I think we should buy the product because we like the product not because the person selling it has a pretty face.

I think the influence that celebrities have over what we buy is a little much. We see a celebrities face and we think it's a trustworthy product. It works for a lot of companies but at the same time they shouldn't have to use celebrities.

I think people dropping Michael Phelps is a little crazy. Everyone tries things that probably aren't the best decisions but that doesn't make them any less of a good person. I think he made a mistake and he regrets it and that people just need to let it go. He's an amazing swimmer and that's the reason why these companies are sponsoring him.

I chose to get Audrey Hepburn to advertise Clean and Clear skin products. I think that if she were still alive she would decide to advertise it. She has very beautiful porcelain like skin and for that reason she would be great for Clean and Clear.

My favourite hero out of the list we were given is Erin Brockovich. She is my favourite because in her movie she showed that if you put your mind to it you can do anything you want. The clothes she wore were a little reveiling and people definitely didn't take her seriously at first, but by doing what she believed and and being passionate about it she got everyone to believe in her.


My favourite villain is Cannibal Lecter. He is my favourite villain because he really has the complete package. He was heartless, he didn't care whats so ever. He was creepy! Some of the gestures and some of the words he used would just about knock you off your chair.



My favourite scientist is Louise Pasteur. He openned our eyes to germs and bacteria. Without his knowledge there would be alot more infections and diseases which would cause in alot more deaths.


My favourite actor is Samuel L. Jackson. He's my favourite because he can play such a mixture of roles. He's an amazing actor and makes any movie he stars in a great one.


My favourite actress is Lisa Kudrow. I love her corky personality on Friends and just the way she carries her self. I've never seen another movie or show with her in it but Friends was enough to make me like her.


My least favourite sports player is Alex Rodriquez. The reason why i don't like him is because he used to be my favourite player. I loved watching him play, plus he was pretty easy on the eyes. Now that he messed up his career, there is no point in liking him anymore. :(

I had fun doing this. I thought it was funny and amusing. :)

I think it turned out really well. I tried to change the colour of my face so that it would blend with the body, but it didn't work as well as I had hoped.

Valentines Day.

I chose this quote because I think this is what Valentines Day should be about. It shouldn't be about how expensive the gift was or how big the bouquet of flower was that you bought each other. What should matter is the time, thought and effort that you put into it. This holiday has turned into a competition to see who can get their loved ones the nicest thing. Everyone has forgotten the true meaning.

I think the worst gift would be not doing anything at all. If someone were to not even take the time to spend a couple hours with you or even call. Valentines Day should be a day where you get to spend time with the people you love and if they dont even have time to do that then they obviously don't care about you.

The best gift to revieve would be their time. I could really care less what they get me as long as the spend time with me. Just staying in and watching a movie or cooking dinner together would be just fine with me.

My ideal Valentines Day with a partner would be staying in and just watching a movie. Doesn't even have to be a romantic movie, anything where you can just sit together and watch. If he wants to bring over some flowers too, that's okay with me. :)

My ideal Valentines Day being single would be hanging out with some friends. Maybe go out, have some fun. Anything to keep my mind off of being single.
